Vehicles & Experiences

that Move Life Forward

Mobility programs are under pressure to differentiate faster, reduce risk earlier, and prove the next investment will pay off. Whether you are shaping a new vehicle platform, rethinking the operator or passenger experience, exploring emerging mobility, or preparing a concept for funding, the real challenge is the same: make smarter decisions before development costs and organizational risk start to climb.

We help mobility teams turn customer insight, strategic vision, and technical possibility into fundable concepts, credible prototypes, and market-ready vehicle experiences across automotive, commercial, emerging, aerial, and recreational mobility.

DIFFERENTIATE WITHOUT OVERBUILDING
Many mobility teams are being asked to create more meaningful customer experiences without adding unnecessary complexity, cost, or development drag. The challenge is not generating ideas. It is identifying which experiences will actually matter in market and deserve investment.
REDUCE UNCERTAINTY BEFORE COSTS ESCALATE
By the time late-stage development reveals the wrong architecture, the wrong assumptions, or the wrong user priorities, the most expensive decisions have already been made. Leaders need ways to pressure-test desirability, usability, and feasibility earlier.
ALIGN PRODUCT, MARKETING, AND ENGINEERING
Mobility programs often stall when each function is solving for a different definition of success. Product wants clarity, marketing wants a compelling story, engineering wants feasibility, and finance wants confidence that the investment will create measurable return.
MAKE INNOVATION EASIER TO FUND
New platforms, emerging categories, and future-facing concepts often fail not because they lack promise, but because they lack enough clarity to secure internal approval, external funding, or organizational momentum.

We work at the intersection of strategy, design, and execution to help mobility organizations make better choices earlier and bring stronger concepts to market with more confidence.

From automotive and commercial platforms to right-sized mobility, aerial systems, and recreational vehicles, we help teams design experiences that are more intuitive, more differentiated, and more credible to customers, operators, and stakeholders.

Automotive

We partner with OEMs, suppliers, and material science technology providers to drive the automotive industry forward. We work with our partners to create vehicles that are not only efficient and safe but also emotionally engaging and enjoyable to drive.

Corning

Helping an automotive materials leader connect emerging user needs to future-ready product opportunities

Corning’s Automotive Glass Solutions group needed a clearer view of how evolving Chinese automotive consumers might shape future product demand. We helped identify distinct consumer personae, translate those insights into relevant opportunity spaces, and develop concept directions that made future glass innovations easier to target, discuss, and prioritize.
Executive angle: This work helped turn market ambiguity into a sharper innovation story and clearer application pathways for future investment. Read more.

Commercial Vehicles

We support commercial vehicle innovators that keep industries moving. From delivery trucks to heavy-duty transport, we create solutions that enhance performance, safety, and user comfort. Our designs prioritize intuitive interfaces, ergonomic workspaces, and optimized efficiency, ensuring these vehicles meet the demands of both operators and businesses.

Dannar

Clarifying real-world use cases and a more manufacturable path for an electric work vehicle platform

DANNAR was developing a new electric Mobile Power Station platform and needed to understand where the vehicle would create value and how modularity could support broader adoption without making the platform too costly or complex. We helped define key use cases, shape a more flexible system vision, and support a more affordable path toward manufacturability. We designed, fabricated and delivered DANNAR’S first fully functional vehicle to market, getting their revenue stream started.
Executive angle: This work reduced ambiguity around product-market fit and helped make the business case for a more scalable platform strategy. Read more.

Right-Sized Mobility

At SF, we go beyond traditional “micro-mobility” to design small vehicles and robots – like e-scooters and autonomous delivery systems – that are intuitive, adaptable, and easy to use. Whether navigating urban streets or reaching remote locations, our solutions enhance mobility, offering smarter, faster, and more accessible experiences for people and goods alike.

Hyundai: New Horizons Studio

Turning an extreme-terrain mobility concept into a more credible and testable innovation platform

Hyundai’s New Horizons Studio was exploring an unmanned modular vehicle for extreme environments. The opportunity was exciting, but the concept needed to become more tangible, more usable, and more believable as a real mobility solution. We helped shape the vehicle from the ground up, support functional prototyping, and visualize its use in ways that made the concept easier to evaluate and communicate.
Executive angle: This work helped transform an ambitious idea into a more credible innovation platform for internal alignment and external storytelling. Read more.

Aerial Mobility

Aviation is evolving, and we’re helping companies design the next generation of flight solutions. From eVTOLs to advanced aircraft systems, we create innovative, efficient, and user-friendly solutions that push the boundaries of air travel. Our clients focus on enhancing performance, safety, and the passenger experience, shaping the future of flight for both people and goods.

LuftCar

Strengthening investor confidence in a next-generation flying car concept

LuftCar had an early CAD concept for a road-and-air mobility vehicle, but to advance funding conversations, the concept needed more maturity, realism, and design credibility. We helped elevate the vehicle design, refine surfacing for both aerodynamic logic and visual confidence, and shape a concept story that better reflected the regulatory and functional realities of this emerging category.
Executive angle: This work made the concept easier to believe, easier to present, and more useful as a funding and stakeholder-alignment tool. Read more.

Recreational Vehicles

Recreational vehicles offer freedom and adventure, and at SF, we help clients design innovative solutions that enhance these experiences. From golf carts to off-road vehicles, we create versatile, intuitive designs that improve performance, comfort, and enjoyment. Whether for leisure or exploration, our designs help ensure that every ride is a memorable one.

Ingersoll Rand – Club Car

Re-energizing a legacy category through stronger design, usability, and premium appeal

Sundberg-Ferar collaborated with Ingersoll Rand’s Club Car division on the design of an entirely new flagship golf car: the Precedent™. The challenge was to re-invigorate golf car sales by enhancing the vehicle’s aesthetic design and functional features. The team conducted robust observational research to fuel the creative process and ultimately developed a golf car design that set the standard for golf car style and comfort — visually distinctive, great to operate, and worthy of Club Car’s premium price point. For directors, VPs, and C-suite leaders, mobility innovation is no longer just about designing a better product. It is about making sharper portfolio bets, aligning more functions earlier, and proving that customer experience, usability, and differentiation will translate into commercial value.

Whether you are defining a new platform, refining an existing vehicle experience, preparing a concept for funding, or trying to align internal teams around the right opportunity, we can help you identify where to focus and what to do next.

Clarify the right opportunity

We identify the customer, operator, and market dynamics that should shape the product strategy, so teams are not building around assumptions that later become expensive.

Translate insight into fundable concepts

We create concept directions, experience frameworks, and visual stories that help leadership teams, customers, and investors understand the value of what is being proposed.

De-risk development through prototyping

We help pressure-test the experience, architecture, and usability of new mobility solutions before organizations commit to the wrong path or overinvest in the wrong feature set.

Mobility is more than transportation – it’s the interaction between people, products, environments, systems, and expectations. SF combines human-centered insight, strategic clarity, and design execution to help mobility organizations create solutions that are intuitive, meaningful, and grounded in how people and goods actually move.
