Jessie Johnson

Industrial Designer

Jessie Johnson

Growing up, Jessie was an avid artist with a passion for cars, tools, and machines. Unsure of whether to pursue engineering or animation, she discovered Industrial design, a field which blended the two sides of herself. Jessie attended the College of Design at North Carolina State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in industrial design. During her time in college, she followed her love for transportation by interning with MasterCraft Boat Company and Textron Aviation (Cessna, Beechcraft). While at MasterCraft, she designed interior seats and parts to improve both the aesthetic and functional performance of wake surf boats. A curiosity for aerospace then led her to Textron Aviation where she conceptualized the future of Cessna’s private jet interiors and defined design languages for the Beechcraft and Cessna brands. Eager to continue exploring a wide variety of industries and products, she joined Sundberg-Ferar where she is now an enthusiastic designer driven toward creating products that are both beautiful and functional.
In her free time, Jessie illustrates children’s books, creates art, woodworks, and loves to go for drives.
