Orthofix: Spinal-Stim® and Cervical-Stim®

Sundberg-Ferar assisted Orthofix with the design of a new set of non-invasive, pulsed electromagnet spinal and cervical bone growth stimulators that significantly increase the rate of spine fusion success in high risk patients. SF’s goal was to increase comfort, minimize weight, and allow the patient to feel less self-conscious wearing the devices during daily activities. The designs improved comfort for both mesomorphs and endomorphs while accommodating other braces and fixtures that the patient may be wearing. Procedures for putting the devices on and taking them off were greatly improved accommodating limited mobility. The ergonomically positioned information panel allows patients to monitor operational status.
