Sundberg-Ferar Invited to Speak at DMI Design Leadership Conference
About The Event
Sundberg-Ferar is invited to speak at the 45th Anniversary of the Design Leadership Conference hosted by Design Management Institute (DMI) next week. Our Director of Strategic Growth, Jeevak, will contribute from SF’s 86-year perspective in human-centric design & innovation in the panel “Digital Equity vs. Smart Cities”.
Too often smart city projects (in the US) have been tilted toward attracting the applause of privileged groups and have not sought to address the needs of those without ready access to social or financial impact. How can cities take action differently? Covid-19 has demonstrated the need for local governments to actively support essential workers who use public transportation, where the majority drives their own cars – a form of insulation. Are city Chief Information Officers focusing on narrowly tailored success metrics? What role can design and tech experts play to create a better balance for ALL citizens?
Jeevak, with panelists from state & local government, and academia, will aim to uncover answers to these questions and more in the virtual conference, Sept 5-7. The conference will also include design workshops, panel sessions, keynotes, and the DMI Annual Design Value Awards.
A prestigious yet intimate gathering of Design & Innovation leaders, the Design Leadership Conference attracts exceptional senior management in design, innovation, and marketing to discuss today’s emerging issues and trends in design management and design thinking.
