If you are reading this and are asking yourself “what is Industrial Design, and how can I leverage this capability in my company strategy”, you are not alone. Few people may know what Industrial Design is, but here at Sundberg-Ferar, it’s what we’re all about! That is why we host our quarterly Innovation Round Table, an intimate, by-invitation gathering of innovation-hungry professionals from diverse industry categories. Together, we raise the bar of thought-leadership at the intersection of art, engineering and business.
Our Innovation Round Table is a facilitated session to grow in awareness of Industrial Design and discuss what it means to create truly unique services and products for the future using design tools and design thinking. As a multi-disciplinary team of industrial designers, engineers, design researchers and model-makers, we get the opportunity to show you what really happens in an Industrial Design studio and how we use our creativity and capabilities for the betterment of mankind.
Our Innovation Round Tables are never quite the same twice in a row, but here’s a general idea of what to expect: When you arrive you will be welcomed into our big blue room, (which doubles as our design research area with one-way glass for concept testing). Brain fuel in the form of coffee and snacks will be waiting for you! After a brief introduction, time will be provided for you to get all of your questions about innovation, design or anything related on the white board. Then, our trusty VP of Strategic Growth, Jeevak, will share our work methodology here at Sundberg-Ferar. There will be an escorted tour of our studio and prototyping shop (no image-capturing devices, please), and an opportunity to take a closer look at some of the past products we’ve designed. Finally, after taking everything in, we will all join in the round table innovation discussion to engage the thoughts and questions that have been presented.
