SF Mask-making Competition!

At long last, for this week’s SF Happy Hour, we had a COVID19 mask-making competition! The challenge? Who can make or design the best homemade face mask.

Some of our mask designs were silly and some were downright ingenious. This week’s prize winner was Lynnaea, Industrial Designer & Marketing and Communications at SF, for her 2 competition entries! The first was a true “Happy Hour Face Mask” with an integrated portable coffee mug cover that could open and close, allowing the wearer to drink through the mask with a straw! But the real kicker was her SF branded mask, complete with our studio logo and a fun “Keep calm and Innovate” message stenciled onto the front. For her prize, she’ll receive a canvas-mounted photo of a White-chested Nuthatch, provided of course, by our own Jeevak, Director of Strategic Growth, and bird photographer extraordinaire by night.

The team also got a bonus lesson from David Byron, Virtuoso Cocktail Maker and Manager of Design & Innovation Strategy, on how to make a caramelized cocktail rim! Check out the pictures below to see the team’s masks.

Our weekly SF Happy Hour competitions are just one way we keep it light, and stay tight as a creative team while we continue to innovate with our clients in the midst of the COVID19 crisis. To learn how you can also leverage industrial design thinking to fuel growth for your business during this time, click here. For more on how we’re continuing our services and collaborative design process with our clients, especially now, click here.

Stay tuned for next week’s competition!
