Today, the annual SF Chili Cook-Off was back by popular demand! It’s the studio’s chance to get a belly full of delicious grub and determine this year’s master chili chef. All willing chefs at the studio enter their best recipe in the competition and then, over what has become a favorite lunchtime for the whole studio, the SF team samples each entry and votes on the very best chili.

This year, there were a whopping seven chili entries! Those of us who didn’t bring chili instead opted to bring corn bread and all the “fixins”. Thanks to our wonderful office manager, Jessie Craig, and our VP/Principal + Director of Design, David Thimm, our main conference room was transformed into a cozy potluck atmosphere complete with a cheery winter scene and a crackling Yule log playing on the presentation screens.

The judging officially kicked-off, and the team buzzed busily around the line of steaming crockpots. We all made sure to get a taste of each dish. Ballots rustled, pens scribbled, and the air was filled with laughter and talk of the upcoming Thanksgiving holidays. Finally, when the ballots and were all filled, and our stomachs couldn’t possibly take one more bite, we all went back to our work and waited for the verdict.

The winner was announced in the afternoon. Jeevak took the 1stprize for the second year running! He was followed by Jessie, herself, as second prizewinner, and Evan Carpenter-Crawford came in 3rdplace. As usual, a wonderful time was had by all, and we look forward to next year when the SF team will have another chance to vie for the title of best chili in the studio!
