We are thrilled to announce that Jeevak, our VP + Director of Strategic Growth, has been chosen to be on the jury for the 2019 Industrial Design Society of America (IDSA)’s International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA). Jurors of the annual award are experts in their field and are chosen for their deep understanding and experience of design. Jurors also understand the great significance of the award and the quality and rigor of the program. It is a great honor for one of our own to be recognized in this position.

Jeevak has played an active role as an IDSA member for over a decade. He served as VP of IDSA’s Central District Chapter for five years and on the International Board of Directors for five years. He also chaired numerous conferences during his time as district VP, and in 2017, he chaired IDSA’s flagship International Design Conference in Atlanta, GA.

Apart from his experience with the IDSA, Jeevak has over 22 years of professional design experience. He started his career at Tata Motors and subsequently worked at GM Warren Design Center and ASC before coming to Sundberg-Ferar. Not only does he have degrees in Industrial Design and Engineering, he also completed his Executive MBA at Eli Broad Business School at Michigan State University. His depth of experience working at the intersection of design and business gives him a unique perspective on the value of design.
The IDEA program is held annually by the IDSA to recognize the very best designs from around the globe. Alongside 39 of the world’s best industrial designers, Jeevak will help judge over 2,000 award entries across 19 different categories. The entries are judged based on their design innovation, user experience, benefit to the client, benefit to society and appropriate aesthetics. Winners of the 2019 IDEA awards will be announced at the 2019 IDSA International Design Conference in Chicago. We hope to see you there!
